Hello and goodbye

Do you ever look back over the years
Do you remember all those faces
Friends come and go
Goodbye and Hello

In August ninety four you were my saviour
now a father with two pockets of delight
for many a year now you have been out of sight
dear friend will we ever meet again

In July ninety nine we became brothers
now no contact I wonder where you are
In the year of zero four
we were no more

Ten years my northern lass we laughed
now a memory fades like a worn out rug
some of you never made it very far
dancer joe found it a bridge too far

Goodbye and Hello is the story of our lives
One year they are in, the next they are gone
The rules of friendship
are never right or wrong
