Simply Red

Do you think he is real does he exist

He comes at Christmas and never missed

In his red suit with toys and sleigh

For a hundred years it's been that way

An act of faith for each new child

Though by this life maybe shop soiled

If they believe shut tight their eyes

Take not away this Yule surprise

And Christmas morning when they wake

Do not destroy the glee they take

At four A.M. on the twenty-fifth

Will they wake to see if he left that gift?

It can't be done so grown ups say

But a child believes in that magic sleigh

Let them keep the illusion that impossible dream

For your children one day in terror will scream

Then they remember the childhood they had

And the night Santa left them that toy as a lad
