Sometimes a thought pops into your head
And you think you'll write a poem
So you grab a pen and paper and you sit down all alone.
You scribble down a line or two
To see how it will flow
Sometimes you have to scratch it out and have another go!
You play around with words and thoughts
And how you'll make it rhyme
And then decide I can't finish this until some other time!"
Hours could pass - or maybe days
With this idea spinning round
And you find it such a hassle just to get it written down.
Ah! Writer's block is an awful thing
It's what we all go through
But we manage to get over it to bring the words to you.
So bear with me a little while
Whilst I try to clear my mind
And pen a little story that is of the rhyming kind.
I really want to write something
But it has come as such a shock
I cannot write a single thing - 'cos I've got writers block!! |
