Lost for some company I thought I'd get a pet
So down I went to the local shop to see what I could get.
The man he said "A tortoise would be easy just to feed and keep"
But I wanted something wide awake instead of half asleep!!
He pointed to some goldfish that were
swimming in a bowl
Though they were very pretty, they did not stimulate my soul.
"Perhaps" he said "Two long-eared rabbits might be just for you?"
But "No" I said "It wouldn't be long before I'd have forty-two!"
"So what about a little bird to cheer
you when it sings?"
But then I saw the mess it made when it flapped its little wings!
Then I saw a lovely puppy that I thought I could adore -
Until I thought about the mess it would make upon the kitchen floor!
I was going to buy a lovely cat who looked
so much at ease,
But then was told the facts about - the worms, the ticks and fleas!!
I want a pet that I can keep and talk to when I'm bored -
And when I see it every morn can feel my soul has soared!
So I cast my eye all around the place to see
what I could see
And it wasn't long before the answer really dawned on me.
It was not a pet I needed - so I have made a cunning plan -
I'm pulling all the stops out now - to try and get myself a man!!! |
