All my life
I was afraid to change or strive for something new
And trying to keep the 'old ways' was all I'd ever do.
But then I hit my fifties and discovered something wild
And this old "fuddy-duddy" became a "Techno-child"!No more hunting
pen or pencil or even writer's cramp
Or running out of jotters and re-cycling an old stamp!
I bought a new computer and installed it in the house
And soon became familiar with the keyboard and the mouse!!
Away with licking envelopes and running for the post
Now I just send my e-mails whilst eating tea and toast!
I understand the lingo like 'access' and 'delete'
And mastering the 'floppy disc' has made my world complete!
Next I bought a mobile phone to see how I would fare
And I love it so completely that I take it everywhere!
I never have to bust a gut before those phone ring stops
It's here beside me in the bath and even in the shops!
There's no more magazines to buy when I travel on the bus
'Cos there's games upon the mobile that I can play without a fuss!!
Or if I'm feeling studious, I can access the Internet
Where I can read my horoscope or even place a bet!
I live out in the country with no-one for miles around
And thank God for Technology because it turned my life around
You see, when I hit my fifties I thought my life was gone
'Til I learned to push some buttons and discovered I was wrong!
Through my mobile and my keyboard I still have lots to say
To a World that's still my oyster and I hope it stays that way.
So all you 'fuddy-duddys' who despair of all things new
Go ahead and try it - there's a whole new world out there for you!
