Re-educate the future

I've been looking at this World now for over fifty years
And things are always changing which leaves me close to tears.

We used to play out daily - well away from our front door
But children cannot do that now - as it's not safe out anymore!

But then children are not children - they are growing up too soon
No more are they impressed by the sun - the seas - the moon!

As infants they are learning not to care or love or trust
And they're taught they must be wary as it seems this World is cussed!

By the time of reaching school age all discipline is gone -
Parents can't raise hand or voice when they've been doing something wrong!

The teachers have it tough as well  - they cannot shout or bawl
As students do just as they please by not attending class at all!

By adulthood they are all messed up - no prospects, home or job,
Most lounge around on Benefits and thing its 'cool' to be a yob!

The next generation coming will be such a sorry lot
How can they inherit all the things their parents haven't got?

I think this World has lost it's track and the Future's looking bleak
If we want a better future - then a solution we all must seek.

We all must learn to take the blame for all the things gone wrong
And then re-educate the future with each new baby that is born!

Perhaps if we are lucky - then this World will be a better place
And forth-coming generations can enjoy this Human Race!
