Maureen said "Come on now, it's time we had some fun"
And before I really knew it - our journey had begun!!
Feeling pretty groovy we jumped upon the bus

Not knowing something special was happening to us!
We stepped into the ballroom - we thought
that it was great!
We took up our positions and we settled down to wait.
The band was playing merrily, and the lights
were nice and dim,
But I was feeling pretty bored - until I spotted him!!
He strode across the dance floor and came
right up to me
He asked me for a little dance and I nodded to agree.
An Englishman, a farmer or a redhead I swore
I'd never wed -
But that red-haired little Englishman - he really turned my head!!
It wasn't long before I knew that he
had stole my heart
And we pledged our love forever and we swore we'd never part!
Within a year we'd married and began a
family -
My life it really started at our wedding ceremony!!
We have two lovely children - a red-haired
girl and boy
And my heart is ever pounding with so much love and joy!
I pray my life continues in the comfort of
this man -
I know he loves me deeply and I love him all I can.
To think I could have lost him by saying
"Go and take a hike!"
But I'm glad I shook his hand when he said "Hello - my name is Mike" |
