Leprechauns and Fairies

Hidden in the rushes
Deep in the Fairy Glen
The Leprechauns were singing
Inside their little den.
They were counting silver buckles
And all the thimbles too
To give up as an offering
When they'd join that celebration queue!

'Cos the Leprechauns and Fairies
Had begun to celebrate
The appearance of their new-born
Whom they'd christened Conn The Great!
He appeared in the early morning
As they tip-toed thought the dew
And all those legends that they sang about
Had now finally come true!

Conn was going to make them famous -
Immortalised by every man  -
Every time a Leprechaun was mentioned
The World would think of Ireland!
Now  - every night and every morning
You'll hear the Leprechauns and Fairies sing
As they give thanks and many blessings
For the fame this little Leprechaun will bring!

So  - if you should wander through the rushes
Deep down in that Fairy Glenn
Make sure you leave a silver buckle
As a little offering for them
And Conn The Great will send his little Leprechauns
To do some magic just for you
And there'll be luck and loads of happiness
In almost everything you do!
