A tiny little
Shamrock which is coloured emerald green
Is the most
important emblem that Ireland's ever seen.
It grows high up in
the mountains and in the valleys down below,
St. Patrick made it
famous - and that's why we love it so.
God sent us faith in
our religion when he sent St. Patrick to our shore
Then he blessed the
little Shamrock to bloom for evermore!
Patrick used that
piece of Shamrock when he taught us how to pray
That's why we were
it proudly on each St. Patrick's Day.
To prove to us that
God exists St. Patrick looked about
Then summoned all
the serpents there and then promptly cast them out!
This land now free
of all it's snakes and faith installed in every man
St. Patrick blessed
a piece of Shamrock and every inch of Ireland.
He said "The Father,
Son and Holy Ghost" as he pointed to each leaf
"And this little
stem from which they're formed - the Foundation of Belief!"
God not only blessed
that Shamrock when he sent St. Patrick to our shore -
He also give us
faith and strength and love and hope for evermore!
And so around the
World each year in March every Irishman is seen
Standing tall and
standing proud and wearing Emerald Green!
