It might be someone famous
With a talent oh so great,
Or just a mighty soldier,
Who made the enemy retreat!

Perhaps it's some explorer
Whose travelled round the world,
It could be an entertainer
With all the stories he has told.

Perhaps an unsung hero
Who has bravely saved a life
Who they grappled an intruder
When threatened with knife!

Perhaps they've been in Politics,
Sport, Science or TV,
A hero could be anyone -
Even you or me!

For me - a hero is my husband
Who was born and bred in Goole,
'Cos he took my world and changed it
So now my life is pretty cool!

He taught me love and understanding
He brought trust and beauty to my life
And this world became a Paradise
The day I became his wife!
