Wrapped up warm in winter coats
Gloved of hand and scarf clad throat
Leave the calm that's Durley Chine
Embrace the wind and seashore brine.
Waves crash in with mighty roar
Blowing sand sculptures the shore
Gulls on high their cries unheard
Wind lashed, battling, flies the bird.
Walkers out of every kind
Joggers sprint leave us behind
Children try in vain to ride
Bikes and scooters at parents side.
Coats and hats out on parade
Wool and cloth in many shades
Some with flaps protect the ears
Some of fur, some had for years!
Dogs of every colour and breed
Not doing what the owners heed
Labradors, Terrier and Spaniels race
Alsatians, Staffy, see Lurchers grace.
Grey clouds race on changing sky
Rain kept off they're so high
Wind surfers skim through the waves
Athletic actions, oh so brave.
Looking back I glance on high
The view I see it makes me sigh
The clouds at last give up the fight
Sun breaks through, shining bright. |
